Albanian President Bajram Begaj welcomed on Wednesday the new ambassador of Greece to Tirana, Lambrini Komini, who officially assumed her duties by presenting her credentials.

During the meeting at the presidential palace, the focus was on bilateral relations between Athens and Tirana, with an emphasis on maintaining open channels of communication and strengthening cooperation at the political and institutional level. Particular reference was also made to the role of the two countries within NATO, as Greece and Albania participate in the Alliance as allied countries with common obligations and perspectives.

The Albanian President, in a post on social media, noted that the discussion revolved around further deepening good neighborly relations and long-term cooperation in areas of common interest.

Lambrini Komini succeeds Konstantina Kamitsi, who completed her term in the Albanian capital and will move to Lisbon as the new Ambassador of Greece to Portugal.
