The ecclesiastical lyceum "Timios Stavros" In Gjirokastra Was officially Closed

In 2025 (about a year ago), the Ecclesiastical Lyceum "Holy Cross" of Gjirokaster, which was a private school of the Orthodox Church of Albania and was founded by the late Archbishop Anastasios, ceased to operate due to a lack of students.

And the state has officially come to seal this development, following a request from the Church of Albania, as clarified by the Church itself in its announcement.

It is reported in this regard: “The decision taken by the authorities is an administrative response to the request of the institution itself. The work of the Orthodox Church in the field of education continues with full dedication, through numerous educational institutions of all levels throughout the country.

The said non-public school operated continuously from 1998 to 2025. During this period, the school, which was founded and operated under the special care of the Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Albania and the late Archbishop Anastasios, enabled hundreds of young people to be educated and cultivate Christian values.

For twenty-seven years, from 1998 to June 2025, the Ecclesiastical lyceum "Timios stavros" of The Metropolis Of Gjirokaster operated, Which Belonged to the "Breath of love" educational Institutions Of the Church of Albania.
