At the established weekly vigil at the pilgrimage church of Agia Paraskevi in Teriahates, Dropoli, Metropolitan Nathanael of Gjirokastër celebrated a memorial service for the completion of 9 months since the death of the late Metropolitan Demetrios of Gjirokastër, as well as 6 months since the death of the blessed Metropolitan Chrysostomos of Rodostolos (who was his spiritual guide on Mount Athos).
After the vigil, a trisagion was sung at the tomb of the blessed predecessor of Mr. Demetrios, which is located in the courtyard of the Monastery.
His Eminence Nathanael served from 1991 to 2012 alongside the late Demetrios, who was initially the first archbishop in the Metropolis of Gjirokastër (1991-2005) and subsequently Metropolitan (2006-2025).
The blessed Metropolitan Chrysostomos of Rodostolos, established on Mount Athos, was the spiritual support of the current Metropolitan of Gjirokastra, who was in the Athonite State from his childhood (student in Athonia) until his mature years.
Both late Metropolitans were distinguished for their ecclesiastical spirit and their Orthodox mindset. In their words, but especially in their actions, they proclaimed that the word of God is light and they urged the faithful to be enlightened by it. It is heavenly milk and they urged the faithful to be strengthened by it. It is the bread of life and they urged the faithful to feed on it. It is a mirror and they urged the faithful to be reflected in it.
Ωραία, θυμόμαστε τους κεκοιμημένους. Κρίμα να φεύγουν τόσοι ιεράρχες. Να είναι καλά εκεί που βρίσκονται.
Διπλό μνημόσυνο! Καλό που δεν ξεχνάνε τους πνευματικούς πατέρες. Σημασία έχει η μνήμη.
Συγκινητικό! Να ‘ναι καλά που τους τιμούν. Η μνήμη είναι ό,τι μένει.
Δύο μνημόσυνα στην ίδια αγρυπνία; Να ‘ναι καλά οι άνθρωποι που τους τιμούν ακόμα.
Ωραίο που τους θυμούνται! Σημαντικό να τιμάς τους πνευματικούς σου πατέρες, ειδικά μετά τόσους μήνες.
Πολύ σημαντικό να τιμάται η μνήμη των ιεραρχών. Μπράβο στον Μητροπολίτη Ναθαναήλ!

Κοίτα να δεις! Πέρασαν κιόλας 9 μήνες για τον Δημήτριο και 6 για τον Χρυσόστομο. Καλό μνημόσυνο.
Πω πω, διπλό μνημόσυνο! Μεγάλη απώλεια φαίνεται για την εκκλησία. Να αναπαυθούν εν ειρήνη.
Ωραίο που τιμούν τους προκατόχους, δείχνει συνέχεια και σεβασμό. Να ‘χουν καλό παράδεισο οι κεκοιμημένοι.
