The case of the former mayor of Himara remains at the center of developments, after the new intervention of the judiciary that clarifies the criminal aspect but leaves the issue of property open.
The Supreme Court rejected the appeal filed, upholding the conviction against him and his co-defendants in the case concerning Livadi Himaras. The sentence imposed on him amounts to one year and four months in prison and is related to the illegal concession of real estate in the area.
At the same time, the confiscation part takes a different turn. The Supreme Court did not uphold the previous judgment regarding the property and proceeded to annul that specific part of the decision.
The part of the confiscation, which concerns the disputed property in Livadi, Himaras, is now being referred for a new examination, leaving open the possibility of a reassessment of its fate.
It is recalled that this is not the first time that the former mayor has faced justice for land management cases in the Himara region. In an earlier case, he had already served a 17-month prison sentence, in the context of a conviction involving another extensive area in the Gileka region.
With the new data, the guilt is considered definitive, however the issue of property remains open, keeping the case pending in terms of its financial aspect.
