Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama participated today in the Paris Peace Forum, organized for another year by French President Emmanuel Macron. The conference brings together personalities from around the world with the aim of strengthening international cooperation.

The Albanian Prime Minister did not let the opportunity go to waste and made sure to once again praise US President Donald Trump, seeking atonement for the incident in early October, when he mocked Trump, with the relevant video going around the world.

Rama commented that the recent political situation in the US, and especially the experience of Donald Trump, seems to be part of a broader plan with implications for Europe as well.

«I believe that what happened in the US earlier this year – I'm referring to what Donald Trump described as God's exact plan to save him (from the assassination attempt) so that America could be saved. In my opinion, if God did have a plan, part of it was to wake up Europe as well.»

«I do not see Europe waking up as it should; there is a form of awakening, if we can call it that. Despite the many efforts made by the President of the Commission and by leaders who are trying to move things forward, in this strong push for a change of attitude towards the concept of defence, in my opinion, there remains something rather fragmented, less than adequate and could become dangerous in the medium term." Rama emphasized.
