On this day in 1912, the victorious battle at the Logara crossing in the province of Himara

On December 28, 1912, a skirmish at the Gropa position from 10 am until sunset. There was a strong enemy attack from the west by the Cretan Corps of Papagiannakis, Galerou and Polyxigis and the locals from the villages of Palassis and Drymades. They repelled the Turko-Albanians with a heroic assault, led by Galerou with 15 men, with the assistance by sea of the warships of the Ionian fleet "Evrotas" and "Acheloos".

From the enemy forces, more than eight bodies up to 100, as well as wounded.

From the Galerou corps, Christos Dimitriadis from Lamia, Kosmas Babis from Palassis, Nikolaos Sotirakos from Oitos, Oitylos, Mani, and Ioannis Nikitakis from Kalis Sykia, Rethymno, were killed. There was also one wounded person from Peliouri.
