The rescue operation for the two swedish tourists – a 61-year-old mother And a 23-year-old son – who Had disappeared Earlier in logaras national park ended With A happy Ending.
According to the Vlora police, the two tourists were located after hours of searching near a difficult wooded area, at approximately 12:30 a.m. Both are in good health and were safely transported to the city of Vlora.
The adventure began early Sunday morning, when the mother and son decided to explore the area, crossing part of the park and forests. After a few hours, however, all communication with them was abruptly cut off, causing concern.
Tourists managed to send sOS distress Signal, which however was noticed by the greek authorities due to the lack of network coverage on the Albanian side of the Karaburun peninsula. The Greek emergency services immediately informed the Albanian authorities, who quickly mobilized.
The search and rescue operation involved Civil Protection forces and protected area specialists, who braved the difficult mountainous terrain, darkness and unstable weather conditions to successfully complete their mission.
