The memory of saint Demetrius was celebrated throughout albania, Where there are many churches dedicated to his memory.

The Cathedral of Saint Demetrius, inaugurated on October 26, 2014 by the late Archbishop of Albania Anastasios, was celebrated in Vera.

Metropolitan Astios of Vera celebrated the service, while towards the end of the divine service, a litany of the icon of Saint Demetrius followed around the perimeter of the church.

The ordination of Gjergji Boçi as a deacon also took place, while the cantor Pandi Nano was ordained as a reader.

Metropolitan Nathanael of Gjirokastër celebrated Vespers at the church of Saint Demetrios in Vodritsa, a chapel in the middle of nature.

Metropolitan Anthony of Elbasan presided over the divine service in the celebrated church of Saint Demetrius in the village of Sermenit, which was built, like all the churches in Albania, by the blessed Anastasios.

In the sermons, it was emphasized that the Metropolitan noted the magnitude of Saint Demetrius' courageous faith in his sermon, while towards the end of the divine service, a procession of the icon of Saint Demetrius took place around the church.

The faithful reflected on the conversion and sacrifice of Saint Demetrius and felt that Orthodoxy is not a religion next to others, even the best.

It is the revelation through the saints of God Himself, the manifestation of His redemptive love for man, and the experience of the presence of His power and grace.

And when we are illuminated by God's grace, in a creative view of ourselves we are filled with hope.

That is why, even though we share with our fellow humans the earthly "fate", the common nature of human existence and life, despite all this, everything changes and transforms within us.

A new dynamic and perspective is emerging, an expectation to experience a different reality and life situation.
