The United Kingdom bans Sali Berisha from entering the country.

The Democratic Party chairman himself stated this in a recent interview.

Sali Berisha: A few hours after Edi Rama announced the news of the decision the UK government would take against me, I was informed by letter that the Home Secretary had decided not to allow me to enter the UK. The letter stated:

1. I have clear links to organised crime and criminal groups that have endangered public safety in Albania and the United Kingdom and that I am willing to use these links to further my political ambitions.

2. For corruption and enrichment of other people close to me, where the former election consultant Damir Fazlic is mentioned as an example, whom I defended when incriminating evidence against him emerged.

This decision is confidential and although the UK representatives said they would not publish the names, I have made the decision to make it public before the Albanian citizens with whom I have always been honest. With my good and my bad, I have always acted in defense of their interest as I valued it. Regarding this decision, I would like to clarify:

1. This decision is a continuation of the interests of the same group that supported Minister Blinken's decision based on the slander of Edi Rama and George Soros.

2. I was aware of the efforts of the diplomats of the International State Department to participate in the decision without any basis in order to increase the pressure on me. A lie no matter how many times it is repeated can become believable but can never become the truth. Its goal is to annihilate the Albanian opposition. It aims to keep in power a government that chooses and sacrifices Albania and the Albanians. The moment any foreign government proves that I have committed corruption, I will take measures against myself.
