The United States of America seems determined and promises that it will not stop until Albanian politics is cleansed of the corrupt and incriminated through the mechanism of the declaration of "non grata", but not only that, as the US is preparing new strikes in the coming weeks. The list of 12 high-ranking corrupt officials who have been declared "non grata" is ready. The West is expected to give another impetus to the fight against the corrupt in Albania.
Thus, the "blacklist" is expected to expand and the strong message recently came from Britain, which will undertake new sanctions in the coming weeks. The British ambassador to Tirana, Alastair King-Smith, in an interview on a TV show, warned about this diplomatic action. The American ambassador to Tirana, Yuri Kim, said that there are government employees who do not sleep because they are afraid that they will be the next to be declared "non grata" or go to prison.
The second phase for the "non grata" Banning entry to the US or Britain will not be the only measures for the “non grata.” All individuals, groups, businesses and organizations in the Western Balkans, including Albania, that undermine democracy, are directly or indirectly involved in corruption, or harm the peace and stability of the region will have their assets and property interests blocked in the future in America, but also in London.
Thus, the new sanctions after the "Non Grata" include the freezing of assets and bank accounts. The Office of Foreign Assets Control of the US Department of the Treasury announced that all assets and interests of persons subject to sanctions located in the US or controlled by a US citizen will be frozen and must be reported to OFAC (Office of Foreign Assets Control of the US Department of the Treasury). It is also noted that the "non grata", in a second phase with the blocking of assets, cannot carry out financial transactions with any international financial system, including banks and transfer agencies.
