Restoration and conservation work on historic temples in Albania continues. Specifically, the monuments with the greatest cultural significance that require immediate conservation are those in the areas of Vitkuki and Moschopoli.
At the Byzantine church of Saint George in Vithkouki, work has now entered the second stage. Specifically, the local team for the rescue and protection of cultural heritage of the Ministry of Culture of Albania, based in Korçë, has entered the stage of conservation of the dome.
With a total of 24 churches, Vythkuki holds a special place in Albania, not so much for their number, but for their architecture and decoration.
