I chanted a trisagion on the day of his name day, October 26, 2025, at the tomb of the late Metropolitan Demetrios of Gjirokastër.

The new Metropolitan of Gjirokastër Nathanael, after consecrating at the church of Saint Demetrios in Ano Lambovo, Gjirokastër (where believers from Ano Lambovo, Kato Lambovo and neighboring villages gathered), went to Teriahates, to the pilgrimage site of Agia Paraskevi, and performed a trisagion for his predecessor, the late Metropolitan Demetrios.

It should be noted that Metropolitan Nathanael has been a close collaborator of the late Demetrios for over 20 years, who has left his humble imprint on the region.

The faithful of the Metropolis of Gjirokaster, and not only, saw his bright view. Even if they shared with their fellow human beings the earthly "fate", the common nature of human existence and life, nevertheless, everything was changed and transformed within him. Far from the mass, far from melting in the cauldron of the modern world, far from the discoloration of the value of the face, far from sick egotism.

From his life emerged, simply and humbly, a new dynamic and perspective, an expectation that man would experience a different reality and situation. This is what he sought for himself, this is what he wanted for others.
