After four months of the devastating fires of August in the villages of the municipalities of Foinikaion and Delvinos, the Saint Athanasios in the village of Eleftherochori, which had been completely destroyed, regained his roof.
Her efforts Initiative of Associations and Fraternities (over 50 in total), but also a few businessmen, seem to be bearing fruit, as their persistence and the financial support of several of our compatriots who believed in the project resulted in the completion of the roof of Agios Athanasios.
At the beginning of the new year agios Dimitrios takes his turn in the village of Senitsa of the municipality of Delvinos, as foretold by the Initiative Coordination Committee, which appeals to all our compatriots and local businessmen to stand by this effort, sending a message in every direction that our faith is not negotiable.
The people of the Initiative are in constant contact with the Metropolis of Gjirokaster and metropolitan Nathanael, With engineers, contractors and crews, as well as with the church committees of the villages whose churches were affected, in a coordinated effort to repair the damage as quickly as possible and for the temples to function again.
It is recalled that the three churches that suffered damage are saint Nicholas in Krogi of the municipality of Phoenicia, saint Demetrius in Senitsa of the municipality of Delvinos and the Agios Athanasios in Eleftherochori of the municipality of Delvinos.
