The Council of Ministers gave the "green light" for the implementation of a new large photovoltaic project in Albania, approving the construction of a power station 49.96 MW in the administrative unit Mesopotamos – Bistrica, in the municipality PhoeniciansThe project is being undertaken by the Albanian company “GREENSOL” sh.pk.
According to the decision, all construction and licensing work must be completed within 36 months, while the operating duration of the photovoltaic park is expected to reach 49 years.
The investment will be jointly supervised by Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy and the National Natural Resources Agency, with regular quarterly checks, in order to ensure progress, quality and full compliance with the approved design.
The company GREENSOL is obliged to submit periodic progress reports, strictly comply with environmental conditions and secure an investment guarantee equal to at least 5% of the total value of the project.
A special provision is also included for the energy benefit of the State, as 2% of the electricity produced will be given free of charge to the competent ministry or converted into a cash equivalent in favor of the state budget. At the same time, part of the production will be available to the public electricity supplier, in accordance with the current institutional framework.
