From December 13 to the first week of April, 1,000 Albanian citizens returned to Albania. These are Albanians who have not been able to obtain asylum from Great Britain.
The UK and Albanian operational teams have established a joint migration working group, which serves as the main gateway for coordinating specialized operational measures and actions to manage the illegal migration of Albanian nationals to the UK.
This includes enhanced checks on free movement criteria at all border crossing points across the country, increased checks on Albanian citizens found to be illegally present on British territory, and an exchange of senior police officers from the two countries.
