Police have arrested one of the main organizers of the smuggling of 670,000 liters of oil from Tunisia. He is 59-year-old Eduard Skora, a resident of Durres, while his accomplice, Florian Biba, remains at large.
As part of the "Black Gold" operation, three people were arrested in the act and five more members of the ship's crew were placed under free judicial investigation.
The Durres Police Department continues the "Black Gold" Operation to dismantle a fuel smuggling ring. In the context of the investigations and operational actions carried out by the authorities in the Port of durres Since January 12, 2025, the police forces are working to arrest individuals who have escaped and identify new suspects.
During the investigations, 59-year-old Eduard Skora was located and arrested. The arrest was carried out by specialists from the Economic and Financial Crimes Directorate of the Durres Police Directorate, in cooperation with the Morine Border Police, upon his entry into Albania.
Skora is accused of having, in collaboration with the wanted Florian Biba, organized the smuggling of fuel by sea from Tunisia. The transport was carried out using the ship's ballast tanks, which are normally intended for its stabilization.
As part of the operation, three people were arrested in the act, while five others, all crew members, remain under investigation.
