Three Albanians who gang-raped a young woman in Bedford, England, were sentenced to a total of 57 years in prison, apparently giving her the worst nightmare of her life.
The 23-year-old victim was enjoying her first night out since the end of Covid restrictions at Vogue nightclub on Bedford High Street last year in the early hours of Saturday, September 4. When she was separated from her friend she was alone and vulnerable.
Unbeknownst to her, she had been chased into the club by Gemti Hyka, 31, who put her in his car and drove her to an address in the city centre where he raped her.
Two of his accomplices, Vullnet Haka, 33, and Ibrahim Bezati, 36, arrived at the same spot and raped her. During this time, the young woman was slapped in the face and forced to take cocaine.
During the trial at Luton Crown Court, Judge Stephen Evans said they had caused the victim “every woman’s worst nightmare”, adding that “they treated her as if she were anything but human.
The woman managed to escape from the house this morning and was found in serious condition by passersby.
Giving evidence at Luton Crown Court, He said he did not remember leaving the club in the early hours of september 4 Last year.
The girl told prosecutor Martin Mulgrew: "I begged them to let me go. I was confused and scared."
Hyka, a Bedford resident, was sentenced to 26 years in prison after pleading guilty to kidnapping, unlawful detention and two counts of rape.
Haka, 33, and Bezati, 36, both Bedford residents, pleaded guilty to unlawful detention and two counts of rape of a woman. Haka was sentenced to 14 years. Bezati was sentenced to 17 years.
