At a glance Ferit Hoxha was recently sworn in as Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs and officially began his duties, assuming responsibility for the formulation and implementation of Albania's foreign policy.
In his first public statement, Hoxha stressed that his priority would be to implementation of the country's european orientation, with the aim of promoting the process of accession to the European Union. The diplomat with over thirty-five years of experience in the public sector and in the Foreign Service Corps described taking on the ministerial portfolio as "a great honor but also a high responsibility towards the state and the citizens."
During his career, Hoxha represented Albania in international organizations and important capitals, gaining experience and understanding the country's growing credibility abroad. As he stated, the voice of Albania is heard today with greater respect and attention.
The new Foreign Minister pledged that together with his colleagues and the competent services, they will continue to work on the implementation of the government's priorities in foreign policy, ensuring that Albania remains reliable and respected on the Euro-Atlantic and international scene.
