The Archbishop of Tirana, Durres and All Albania, Mr. Ioannis, met today with Pope Leo XIV. The meeting took place in a private audience, following the Archbishop's participation in the International Conference "Dare to Peace", organized in Rome.

During the meeting, various issues of common interest were discussed and the importance of restoring peace and ending the wars that plague the world was emphasized.

Particular emphasis was also placed on the need to support and care for young people, who constitute not only the future, but also the present of our societies.

The Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Albania continues to work consistently to maintain friendly and open relations with all, contributing to the promotion of harmony and general prosperity.

Η ιστορική αυτή συνάντηση αποτελεί απόδειξη των κοινών προσπαθειών των Χριστιανών ως καθοριστικού παράγοντα για την ειρήνη, στην οποία η Ορθόδοξη Εκκλησία της Αλβανίας διαδραματίζει ιδιαίτερα σημαντικό ρόλο.

At the end of the meeting they exchanged gifts.
