The new offices of the Metropolis of Gjirokaster were inaugurated with a blessing by Metropolitan Nathanael of Gjirokaster.

They will operate in the space where the Ecclesiastical Lyceum "Timios Stavros" used to be, and will be open from Monday to Friday.

The Metropolitan will receive daily clergy, laity, visitors and generally anyone who wishes to see him.

From the first moment he returned to Gjirokastra as Metropolitan, Mr. Nathanael has been collaborating with the clergy, talking with the faithful, and communication with them is direct.

He has also begun to officiate in the parishes of his Metropolis. In addition to the city of Gjirokastër, where he officiated at the Resurrection Cathedral, he also officiated at the church of Saint Charalambos of Agioi Saranda, both of which were founded by the late Archbishop Anastasios.

Metropolitan Nathanael knows well from his experience that to support the flock, it is not enough to simply remind them of the gospel truths. A common struggle between shepherd and flock is needed, so that either memory or forgetting becomes a practice.

He also knows well that it is not possible for the pastor to activate the faithful only with suggestions and without his own example of transferring the functions of memory and forgetting to the entire spectrum of life. And this he does… He tries through his example to convey pastoral benefit to the people.
