Two historical flags of Himara from the personal archive of the Chief of Himara, Spyros Spyromiliou, were delivered today to the National Historical Museum.
The descendant of the well-known family of Himara, Mr. Miltos Spyromilios, accompanied by the president of the Union of Chimarri, Thodoris Goumas, emotionally handed over to the General Curator of Collections of the Museum, Ms. Natasa Kastriti, the two flags that flew in Himara during the period of the autonomous struggle of Northern Epirus in 1914.
The historical flags, whose safekeeping and maintenance in recent years was undertaken by Mr. Miltos Spyromilios, are now being transferred to the temple of the modern history of our homeland, where they will be included in the archive of the Northern Epirus struggle, will constitute scientific evidence and their proper maintenance and protection will be ensured.
