The first organizational structures of Omonia
First Conference of the Agioi Saranda Branch
On May 23, 1991, at The Delvinos municipal council, the first omonia Conference for The provinces of agioi saranda And Delvinos took Place.
The president of the Founding General Council, Andreas Zarbalas, informed the Conference about the activity of the parliamentary group inside and outside the Parliament, as well as about the group's recent visit to Greece.
THE mP Yiannis Gizelis informed those present about the economic study being prepared by the Economic Committee.
The Conference elected the Plenary of the Branch consisting of 75 people.
The Plenary Assembly elected the Presidium consisting of 15 people.
Petros Beretis was elected President of the Branch, Vassilis Stavros and Mitsios Giotis were elected Vice Presidents, while Vangelis Papachristos was elected Secretary.
The Conference adopted the following statement on the situation prevailing in the Minority.
STATEMENT
The Branch Conference, expressing the concern of the entire Greek minority of the province, requests:
1. Put an end to violence, animal theft, and migration, which can alter the map of the land and lead to denationalization.
2. Control should be exercised by law enforcement agencies and measures should be taken against all those in charge of these agencies when they do not perform their duties.
3. To raise the economic level, legal procedures should be simplified in order to easily absorb humanitarian aid to minorities, both from individual individuals and from various institutions in Greece.
4. Also simplify the procedures for Greek businessmen to make their investments in the minority sector.

Οι πρώτες κινήσεις οργάνωσης της ομογένειας στην Αλβανία, μετά τη μεταβολή του καθεστώτος, είχαν σαφή γεωπολιτική διάσταση. Σημαντικό ορόσημο.

Πάλι με τα παλιά; Το ’91 είναι ιστορία πια. Τι μας αφορά σήμερα όλο αυτό; Αλήθεια τώρα;
θυμάμαι πόσο δύσκολα ήταν τότε για τους δικούς μας. καλό που οργανώθηκαν και μίλησαν για τα δικαιώματά τους.
Η συγκρότηση οργανωτικών δομών το 1991 σε αυτή την ευαίσθητη περιοχή, διαμόρφωσε τις βάσεις μειονοτικών διεκδικήσεων. Πολύ διαφωτιστικό.
Η συγκρότηση της Ομόνοιας το 1991 αποτελεί κομβικό σταθμό για την εκπροσώπηση του Ελληνισμού στην Αλβανία, σηματοδοτώντας συλλογική διεκδίκηση με ευρύτερες γεωπολιτικές διαστάσεις.
Από τότε ξεκίνησαν όλα! Καλά το οργανώσανε οι… ‘αγνές’ προθέσεις. Μάλλον κάτι άλλο ψήνονταν από πίσω, έτσι δεν είναι;
Οι απαρχές οργανωτικών πρωτοβουλιών της μειονότητας στην περιοχή, καθοριστικές για τη διαμόρφωση ισορροπιών και διπλωματικών σχέσεων.
