A 30-year-old Albanian man was arrested by the FBI in London, as he is suspected of being a member of a criminal group for smuggling immigrants.
The Albanian, whose identity has not been made public by the English media, was arrested in the Tolworth Rise area, where significant amounts of money were found during the search.
English media reports that he is being questioned by officers on suspicion of belonging to a criminal group that secures the transportation of immigrants from France to England.
Concern for these migrants has also been expressed by the head of British police investigations, Jacques Burr, who said that attempts to reach the United Kingdom in small boats are extremely dangerous.
These criminal networks do not care about the safety of the people they transport as they exploit everything for profit.
In a short period of time, British police opened more than 60 investigations into networks or individuals suspected of involvement in organized immigration crime or human trafficking.
Albanian smugglers are believed to play a significant role in facilitating illegal migration across the English Channel.
Britain and France have pledged to stop all illegal crossings and, as a result, the two countries will hold a meeting in 2023 in an effort to strengthen the fight against illegal immigration.
