The Prime Minister of Great Britain, Rishi Sunak, had a telephone conversation with Rama.
The news is announced by the official website of the British government, which writes that "the leaders welcomed the close cooperation between the United Kingdom and Albania and pledged to strengthen cooperation in trade, investment and defense, including cybersecurity."
The British Prime Minister praised the positive contribution of the Albanian community in the United Kingdom, but both leaders agreed that more needs to be done to tackle illegal immigration and jointly combat organized crime.
“They discussed plans to increase cooperation to address common challenges, including closing gaps that prevent the rapid return of rejected asylum seekers.
"Edi Rama and Rishi Sunak look forward to working together to address these issues and deepen the overall relationship between the UK and Albania," the British government said in a statement.
