Judges of the Administrative Courts, advisors and legal assistants of the Supreme Court, and employees of the Legal Service of Albania gathered today in a training organized by the OSCE Presence in Albania, in cooperation with the School of Judges and the European Association of Administrative Judges (AEAJ).
A central theme of this training was the complex relationship between national legislation, EU legislation and international human rights standards.
Speaking at the start of the training, the Deputy Chairperson of the OSCE Presence, Clarisse Pasztory, the Director of the Judicial School, Arben Rakipi, and the President of the AEAJ, Sylvain Mérenne, underlined the crucial role of judges in maintaining legal certainty, the independence of the judiciary, as well as in protecting the fundamental rights of citizens.
Judges Edith Zeller and Eva Wendler shared valuable insights into how European courts address these challenges and integrate EU law into national systems.
The OSCE presence Stressed that it remains a proud partner of the albanian judicial system, always ready to support and promote the independence, integrity and professional development of judges for a strong and sustainable rule of law.
