The Albanian Council of Ministers approved yesterday, November 5, in principle the agreement with Italy on cooperation in the field of defense.

The decision takes effect immediately and follows the approval, a week ago, of a strategic agreement with Italy that includes cooperation in ten areas.

Recent agreements concluded with Italy cover areas such as health, energy, environment, security and defense industry, migration management, education, innovation, diaspora, economic transformation and "smart" growth.

The governments of Albania and Italy are expected to hold their first joint meeting in Rome in mid-November, further strengthening cooperation between the two countries.

The agreements to be signed in rome, Within the framework of this joint meeting, aim to officially establish strategic cooperation and deepen bilateral relations between albania and Italy.

Their purpose is to create a structured framework for the implementation of joint projects and initiatives in various sectors.

Albania and Italy had signed the Strategic Partnership Declaration in 2010.
