A clear message of continued support to the Greeks of Northern Epirus was sent by the President of the Parliament, Nikitas Kaklamanis, on the occasion of the initiative to strengthen health structures in the minority Municipality of Dropoli - Pogoni.
By decision of the Hellenic Parliament, the equipping of five Health Centers in the region with medical and pharmaceutical materials is progressing, covering significant gaps faced by approximately 8,000 Greek residents.
"The Hellenic Parliament stands and will always stand by the side of the Greeks of Northern Epirus, with a unanimous decision of all parties," stressed Mr. Kaklamanis, underlining the firm commitment to practical support for the diaspora.
The Speaker of the House highlighted the importance of intervention in the critical health sector, while at the same time announcing that he extended an invitation to the new Speaker of the Albanian Parliament, Niko Peleshi, to visit Athens, expressing his intention to return the visit and be close to the Greeks of Northern Epirus.
Special mention was made to Former minister and Physician George sourlas, whose long-standing action for the hellenism Of northern Epirus Contributed to the implementation of the initiative, with him thanking for the immediate response to meeting the health needs of the region.
Representatives of the local government of the Municipality of Dropoli - Pogoni participated in the meeting in Parliament.
