Air Albania was founded in September 2018 with capital up to 30 million dollars, according to reports of the time, and is active in passenger and cargo air transport.

Its shareholding structure is as follows: Turkish Airlines 49%, MDN Investment SHPK 41% and Albcontrol representing the Albanian state 10%.

In August, Turkish Airlines acquired minority stake in Air Europa for 300 million euros. A month later, the company's president, Ahmet Bolat, clarified that Turkish Airlines is not considering acquiring a majority stake in the Spanish airline.

Turkey's national carrier said its third-quarter 2025 revenue rose 5% year-on-year to nearly $7 billion, thanks to strong passenger demand. However, net profit fell 11% year-on-year to $1.4 billion.

The company estimates that passenger traffic will increase by 7% to 8% this year, exceeding 91 million passengers.
