The UK Home Office has ordered asylum units to deal only with claims from Albanian migrants in an attempt to speed up deportations.

"Independent" sources report that the operation against illegal Albanian immigrants is codenamed "Bridora" and aims to process more applications and remove them from the island as soon as possible.

British prime minister Rishi Sunak, meanwhile, said in an interview that he remains committed to the return of illegal immigrants to Albania.

Sunak also considered the level of illegal immigration from Albania to the United Kingdom "ridiculous".

"If you come here illegally, you will be detained and then within a few days or weeks we will hear your claim," Sunak stressed, adding that deportation would be immediate as a way to reduce the entry of migrants by boat into Britain.
