An eventful evening in Tirana tonight. The plenary session of the Albanian Parliament was turbulent, as it usually is in recent times. Parallel to the session of the Albanian Parliament, the continuation of the protest of the Albanian opposition in front of the parliament took place. About 10 deputies of the Democratic Party were unable to enter the plenary hall as the guard did not allow them.
Citizens who participated in the protest, angry against the rama Government, held placards with slogans calling for him to step down from power and for the policy of corruption and organized crime to stop.
Sali Berisha and Ilir Meta also participated in the protest.
About 1,000 police officers were deployed and arrested protesters. What also stood out was the power outage that occurred during the plenary session at the moment when the Speaker of the Parliament Lidita Nikola called for a minute of silence for the victims of the earthquake in Turkey and Syria.
