With a clear political stance and a strong international message, the Albanian government reaffirms its strategic orientation on the side of Washington, adopting a tough stance against the Venezuelan regime.
Αφορμή στάθηκε δημόσια παρέμβαση της υπουργού Ευρώπης και Εξωτερικών Υποθέσεων της Αλβανίας, Ελίσα Σπιροπάλι, η οποία μέσω ανάρτησής της στο κοινωνικό δίκτυο X κατέστησε σαφές ότι τα Τίρανα ευθυγραμμίζονται πλήρως με τις πρωτοβουλίες των Ηνωμένων Πολιτειών στην περιοχή της Λατινικής Αμερικής. Η Αλβανία, όπως σημειώνει, στηρίζει τις αμερικανικές ενέργειες που στοχεύουν –κατά την ίδια– στην αποδόμηση ενός καθεστώτος το οποίο συνδέεται με εγκληματικά δίκτυα, διαφθορά και αυταρχικές πρακτικές.
In the same context, the Albanian minister praised the role of American diplomacy and in particular the stance of US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, emphasizing that the international community must react decisively to phenomena of institutional deviation and cross-border organized crime.
Special mention was also made of the people of Venezuela, who – according to Spiropali – are entitled to a political system based on democracy, the rule of law and individual freedoms, without fear and repression. The silence of the international community, she stressed, cannot be an option in the face of such conditions.
The statement concludes by recalling Albania's role as a loyal ally of the United States and an active member of NATO, which – as it is emphasized – remains aligned with Western leadership on issues of democratic values and international security. The message from Tirana is clear: the country's foreign policy continues to move firmly within the Atlantic framework, even on distant geopolitical fronts.
