Former Albanian President Ilir Meta has appealed against the decision of the Special Criminal Court for Combating Corruption and Organized Crime (GJKKO), which had previously rejected his request to replace the measure of temporary detention with another, milder form of restriction.
According to relevant information, meta's defense attorneys filed An appeal today before the special court Of Appeal, challenging the legality of the decision that maintains his temporary detention in force.
Ilir Meta is under investigation for serious charges, including corruption and money laundering. He has denied the charges, calling them politically motivated.
The case is expected to develop further with its examination by the Special Court of appeal Against corruption and Organized Crime.
