The Special Court in Tirana (SPAK) convicted sixteen people for participating in an organized electronic fraud ring, which had defrauded citizens abroad, mainly from italy, causing Damage of millions of euros.
The case was examined in a summary procedure and concerned a well-structured network that operated through call centers, presenting false investment opportunities and extorting money from unsuspecting citizens.
According to the decision issued on october 27, 2025, The sentences ranged from six to eight years in prison, depending on the role each defendant had in the ring.
The court ruled that the convicted individuals had assumed specific responsibilities in the criminal activity, from telephone communication with the victims to managing the money that was illegally extracted.
The total damage caused is estimated at approximately 4.7 million euros, while the case is considered one of the largest of its kind investigated in recent years by SPAK.
