Tangerines confiscated by Croatia due to high levels of poison have reappeared on the Albanian market and were sold to citizens, despite the fact that according to regulations they should have been destroyed. The case was uncovered by the Berat Prosecutor's Office, which arrested three people, including an inspector, for selling 10 tons of tangerines containing a dangerous pesticide.

Instead of destroying the dangerous products, they were re-released on the market. The case involved failure to comply with the procedures for destroying the contaminated products, as well as the alleged issuance of false certificates for their marketing. The actions of these individuals violated several criminal laws, and those arrested face charges of producing and distributing dangerous food and abuse of power.

The investigation continues with the process having been passed to the Berati Prosecutor's Office for further action.
