A call in Dover, Delaware, left an emergency worker in shock. A man from Albania, thinking he was calling Dover police in England, mistakenly contacted police in the United States, asking for help because the inflatable boat his brother was in was sinking in the English Channel.

The incident happened last month, on August 27th.

"The caller had done an online search for 'Dover Police Department' and the first result that came up was the Dover Police Department in Delaware," authorities said in a statement.

"He thought he was calling Dover, England, but he connected to our service here in the United States," they added.

After the call, within 4 minutes, international services were notified. Eventually, the man managed to contact the French Coast Guard and his brother, along with other people on the boat, were rescued.
